FRV has lodged a Development Application for a Material Change of Use (MCU) and Reconfiguration of a Lot for Tieri Solar Farm

May 8, 2018

FRV has lodged a Development Application for a Material Change of Use (MCU) and Reconfiguration of a Lot (ROL) with the Central Highlands Regional Council for construction of a solar farm on 242Ha of land, known as Tieri Solar Farm.

Tieri Solar Farm will be built on a site currently used for cattle grazing. The site is adjacent to the approved Lilyvale Solar Farm project located off Oakey Creek Road, near Tieri in Central Queensland. Construction of the Lilyvale Solar Farm started in late 2017.

Extensive work has gone into planning of the Tieri project, including careful site selection, to ensure it does not adverserly affect the local natural environment or existing land uses. Importantly, the project will provide an economic boost to the local economy through its construction and the provision of employment in a new, sustainable industry.

Financial close of the Lilyvale Solar Farm was achieved during September 2017 with operations expected to commence in 2018. The project will benefit from a PPA with Ergon Energy, the QLD-government owned retailer, part of the Energy Queensland group, who will purchase 100% of the electricity generated by the project.
